There’s so much going on in the early part of the spring that it can be dizzying to try and scope out a calendar for the best things to do. If you’re paralyzed by options, look no further: Here are three short and sweet activities for the whole family to get up to this weekend.

Mad Science Friday Night Flash Camp

May 2, 5:30 p.m.

Mad Science of Pittsburgh | 1248 Evergreen Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15209

On the first Friday of every month, kids can dive headfirst into the Mad Science facilities, complete with an interactive center with LEGO bricks, snap circuits, magna-tiles and more. Each month has a different lab, so if you’ve gone before, go again!

Anastasia at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center

May 2-4, 7:30 p.m.

Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center | 1 Lincoln Park, Midland, PA 15059

The story of a brave young woman in Soviet Russia searching for answers about her past comes to the stage in Pittsburgh thanks to the Tony-Award winning team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Kids may recognize the story (and some songs!) from the 1997 Don Bluth animated film. Don’t miss out on this fantastic production!
