Pennsylvania earned 6th place on a ranking of every U.S. state by their suitability for trick-or-treating conducted by therapeutic shoe company KURU. The ranking noted that Pennsylvania had the second-highest walkability score out of any state at 75/100, second only to first-place winner Illinois. It’s also the state in the top 10 with the warmest Halloween nights, with an average of 54°F in past years.

KURU conducted this ranking by identifying five key factors—walkability, average temperature, pedestrian safety, youth population and enthusiasm for Halloween based on Google Trends statistics—and grading each factor on a 20-point score out of a potential 100 points.

In total, Pennsylvania scored 55 out of 100. The top 5 states that beat Pennsylvania are Utah, Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio and Illinois, which had the highest score at 60. The lowest-ranking state, New Mexico, only scored 24 points.
