Stroll through the historic Allegheny Commons Park to encounter sparrows, finches, cardinals, and even birds of prey commonly seen throughout southwest Pennsylvania. Sanitized binoculars will be available (while supplies last), or birdwatchers can bring their own. Our birding expert will teach you how to use your binoculars, and how to identify common wild birds, as you enjoy a morning stroll through the scenic park. Face masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn during National Aviary programs. All ages are welcome.

Condor Talk, daily at 2:30 p.m.

Meet the Andean Condors of the National Aviary during daily talks with a National Aviary expert in the outdoor Condor Court habitat. Penguin Talk, daily at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

How much fish can an African Penguin eat every day? Learn the answer to this, and more, as National Aviary experts feed the colony during daily feedings at Penguin Point. While the colony feasts on their favorite fish, find out how the National Aviary is working to protect this endangered species, and learn how you can help African Penguins. Book a Private Penguin Feeding to learn even more and feed the colony by hand!

Birds Meet & Greets, daily at 10:30 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Watch as a gorgeous Grey Crowned-crane or a cute Hooded Vulture flies right by you, or get the chance to meet a fascinating bird, like an owl or a hawk, during a Bird Meet and Greet session. National Aviary experts will introduce you to some of the species that call the National Aviary home, and help you learn more about their behaviors and habitats.
