VolunTOTS expands programming to VolunTYKES for Elementary Aged Children
VolunTOTS launched in February and has seen overwhelming success in the Pittsburgh area
VolunTOTS, Pittsburgh’s newest volunteer organization for its littlest residents, will expand to include VolunTYKES for first through fifth graders. Current VolunTOTS leadership is actively recruiting for parents to join the VolunTYKES steering committee before the first planned project, which will be a Thanksgiving dinner for rural inhabitants of northern Pittsburgh.
Since launching in February 2021, VolunTOTS has completed a number of engaging projects. Following their motto of “Everybody can be a helper,” the tots have done a new toy drive for the Islamic Center, collected new pajamas and toothbrushes for Christmas in July to benefit Jeremiah’s Place, and packed 3,000 baggies for 17 area hospitals to mark one year of Covid in March 2021.
