The Allegheny County Parks Department announces changes to comply with state mitigation efforts

Restrictions & operational changes take effect on Saturday, December 12

The Allegheny County Parks Department today announced operational changes to comply with the commonwealth’s temporary COVID-19 protective mitigation measures. All indoor facility rentals will be canceled from December 12 through January 3. All sports and fitness programs will also be canceled from December 12 through January 3, including flag football, hockey leagues, hockey lessons and ice-skating lessons. Full refunds will be issued for all canceled facility rentals and programs.
North Park and South Park ice rinks are further modifying their operations from December 12 through January 3:
  • Rink buildings will be closed, including indoor restrooms. Portable toilets, lockers and benches will be provided outside.
  • Only 50 skaters will be permitted per session.
  • Admission is $5 for county residents and $6 for non-residents. Skate rentals are included in the admission price.
  • Tickets must be purchased online in advance. No walkups will be allowed.
  • Face coverings will be required at all times in compliance with Pennsylvania’s Universal Masking Order.

The drive-in Holiday Laser Show at North Park will proceed as planned through December 20 since attendees remain in their vehicles.

North Park and South Park golf courses will continue to operate under existing COVID-19 guidelines, weather and conditions permitting.
