Film Pittsburgh presents fall festival including Three Rivers Film Festival

Film Pittsburgh, the region’s premiere film-presenting organization, announces its newest offering, the Film Pittsburgh Fall Festival, which will screen online at filmpittsburgh.org, November 11-22, 2020. Presented virtually due to Covid-19, the festival will feature the Three Rivers Film Festival, along with the highly regarded Pittsburgh Shorts, with tracks of ReelAbilities Pittsburgh and JFilm Festival woven throughout.
Film Pittsburgh will present the Three Rivers Film Festival (3RFF) continuing its 38-year tradition of offering quality independent feature films to regional audiences. This year also marks the landmark 20th festival season for Film Pittsburgh executive director, Kathryn Spitz Cohan. During her tenure, Kathryn has been hugely instrumental in building the independent film festival scene in Pittsburgh from modest beginnings.
“A lot has changed in the past 20 years, but this year has been unprecedented,” said Spitz Cohan. “We are navigating the new landscape of virtual film festivals in response to the pandemic, and incorporating the legacy of 3RFF into our film family. We plan to offer an outstanding selection of independent film at our Fall Festival and continue to make Pittsburgh a destination for independent film lovers.”
The pivot to a virtual festival will bring increased accessibility and will reach a much wider audience. Film Pittsburgh’s programming team has curated a broad range of new films, voices, and stories from around the world for a truly international festival of high-quality independent films. The Fall Festival will provide engaging content for all ages, interests, and backgrounds that can be enjoyed safely at home. Ticket sales begin October 21.
