Easter Activities For Kids
It’s no secret that it can be difficult to find Easter holiday activities to keep the kids occupied over the two-week break, there are only so many days out your patience and wallet will allow.
To help you out, we’ve put together some Easter craft ideas and other school holiday activities that can be done at home, without breaking the bank!
Easter bunny treat jars
The kids will love making these lovely jars, and they are also a very cute Easter gift idea for both old and young alike! All you need to do is gather any old jars and cut an Easter bunny shape out of some brightly coloured paper. Then decorate the outside of the jar with some ribbon and fill the inside with sweets or mini eggs.
Wax-resist egg dyeing
This Easter craft idea is taken from a very old Ukrainian tradition. For thousands of years, Ukrainians have elaborately pattered real eggs using a special wax-resist process. Wax is simply applied to an egg which is then dipped in a coloured dye; it is then placed in a very hot oven for around 5 minutes. When the wax is melted and wiped off, beautiful watercolour patterns are revealed beneath.
Easter egg decorating
Have a go at decorating some pre-bought Easter eggs with the kid’s favourite chocolates and sweets. If you have a little extra time on your hands and have your creative hat on, then you could also try creating your own from scratch with this fantastic BBC Good Food recipe.
Make your own Easter cards
A fun Easter holiday activity is getting the little ones involved in making some ‘Happy Easter’ cards for the friends and family. Who wouldn’t appreciate their very own personalised card this Easter? You can buy a selection of ribbons, sequins, feathers, paints, tissue paper and crayons from any craft shop, and then let your mind run wild with creative ideas.
Easter baskets made out of paper cups are a very cute idea for an Easter holiday activity. They’re quick and easy to make, look great and are a lovely Easter gift idea for a family member or friend! Simply decorate your paper basket then fill them with tissue paper and sweet treats.
Salt dough Easter shapes
Salt dough is a wonderful product for kids to use to create some beautiful Easter crafts. It’s a very easy recipe simply made up of just three ingredients – 1 cup salt, 2 cups of flour and ¾ cup of water. Once painted, you can hang these up as decorations in your home or use them as part of an Easter egg hunt.
Easter egg hunt
Of course, what better way to entertain the kids this school holiday than with a traditional Easter egg hunt? To add to the fun and excitement of this Easter activity, you may even want to get together with the other mums and put together a list of clues! Whilst the kids are occupied on the hunt, this gives you the perfect opportunity to put your feet up and relax for a few hours!
We hope we have helped you come up with some Easter holiday activities to help entertain the kids this school holiday!
