Did you know…
The replacement of the Marshall Island Bridge is currently underway at Marshall Lake in North Park.
The new bridge will have steel beams, and all the railings and decking will be constructed from black locust lumber, a highly rot-resistant native tree species. The new design also utilizes the stone piers from the original bridge.
A new black locust split rail fence will also be installed around the island. The bridge is anticipated to be open to the public in early April. Stay tuned for more updates!
