Did you know?
Did you know The Oliver Miller Homestead in South Park has remained a site of genuine historic significance? Near that location in 1794 the first shots of the famous whiskey rebellion were fired. Oliver Miller’s original log house received a stone addition by his son James in 1808, and in 1830 a second stone addition replaced the original log house. The Homestead includes an original stone house and spring house, a reconstructed log house, blacksmith forge, barn, demonstration shed and various gardens. Guides in 18th-century dress will conduct tours, demonstrate pioneer crafts and discuss history!
