Dear friends of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust – Update

Thank you for following along with us during this intermission in the Cultural District. We hope that you are staying safe and healthy while keeping digitally connected to the vibrant arts scene in Pittsburgh. In case you missed it, the Trust has been actively working to bring you arts experiences online, such as virtual learning tools through Trust Arts Education Creative Connections and giving our would-be festival-goers a taste of Bookish in the ‘Burgh. We have also recently announced our 2020-2021 PNC Broadway in Pittsburgh and Trust Cabaret seasons.
We are working diligently to bring you good news about what is to come when we can all gather again and to reschedule as many of our affected events as possible, but in the current pandemic we must first protect the health and safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, and artists. As we continue to follow the leadership of Governor Wolf and our public health officials, it is with a heavy heart that we have come to the extremely difficult decision to suspend additional Pittsburgh Cultural Trust events, extending through June 14.
This extension affects two of our signature Festivals – the EQT Children’s Theater Festival and the Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival. While we will not host the physical, in-person Festivals this year, we are working diligently to navigate the unprecedented circumstances and scarcer resources to produce digital spaces where we can gather to celebrate these iconic Festivals. You can continue to check back on our website and connect with the Cultural Trust on social media in coming weeks when we will begin to announce these exciting opportunities.
Please know that the Cultural Trust does not take a single cancellation, postponement, or closure lightly, as we recognize the effect that each and every event has on our region, our artists, and you, our supporters and fellow arts lovers. While nothing can ever replace the beauty and joy of coming together and experiencing art, in coming weeks we will be working diligently to bring our audiences digital experiences that will help us all stay connected throughout this intermission.
You can continue to check our website for the most updated information on events affected by COVID-19. We will be in touch soon with those who have purchased tickets to these events.
And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your continued trust in and support of the arts in Pittsburgh. We will get through this and share amazing arts experiences again in the Cultural District.
Be well,
Your friends at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust
